As an illustrator, I started out with decidedly mixed feelings regarding generative AI and its relationship with artists whose work it was trained on. As a creative professional, however, I have to make my peace with the idea that AI is here to stay and — like any new tool — my understanding of it is an essential skill.

For anyone who feels like their work or style is reflected in the explorations captured here, I salute you for being able to produce on your own what I have only been able to mimic through technical wizardry. My contribution to the work above lies in the effort I’ve spent figuring out how to wield AI effectively, and the (hopefully) good taste of my curation.
